Through research, teaching, executive leadership, and practice, I have spent more than three decades helping organizations navigate complex decisions involving growth, innovation, finance, and organizational performance.

My work bridges academic medicine, entrepreneurship, and healthcare transformation, with a focus on helping leaders create lasting value in uncertain environments.

Highlights include:

• Scaling a technology and consulting firm from 5 to 250 employees, before its acquisition by Oracle

• Raising multiple rounds of venture capital

• Serving as CEO of Texas's largest health information exchange organization and Deputy Controller of the largest U.S. cancer hospital

• Securing more than $75 million in federal and state research funding, and $10 million in philanthropic funds

• Leading multiple nationally recognized healthcare initiatives that improved patient outcomes and influenced public policy

• Managing $1 billion + in assets for a global Fortune 500 chemical firm

• Advising healthcare organizations, startups, executives, and investors on strategy, growth, and performance

• Publishing more than 150 peer-reviewed articles and 8 books

I currently serve as Executive Director and Professor at UTHealth Houston, where my research and implementation efforts have generated more than $75 million in funding and contributed to nationally recognized programs in cardiovascular care, emergency medicine, addiction recovery, and digital health.
